Regulations Contest is open to: All professionals and amateur cartoonists all over the world. Theme: Knockout Drug Entries: Max. 5 works. The works (in any form of visual art) must be original, unpublished before and accompanied by the author's entry-form, biography and photo Size: Min. A4 (210 x 297 mm) - max. A3 (297 x 420 mm) Technique: Free Deadline: All entries must be postmarked by April 15, 2006 Prizes/Awards: 1st Prize - CartoonRing Medal and 3,000 US$ 2nd Prize - CartoonRing Medal and 2,000 US$ 3rd Prize - CartoonRing Medal and 1,000 US$ CartoonRing medal's will also be awarded to honorable mentions which the CartoonRing committee feels have demonstrated a successful view of the knockout Drug theme. Jury Members: The artwork will be evaluated by judges in eight countries to determine the #1 anti-drug cartoon in the world. Catalogue: Each entrant whose work is chosen for publication in the catalogue will receive a free copy of the catalogue. Festival and Exhibition: The 2006 knockout Drug Cartoon Festival will be launched in the Spring/summer of 2006 and Prizes will be awarded during that time. Intellectual property rights and copyright issues: All entries and all rights to their publication become the property of CartoonRing which may use or edit these entries for promotional or any other purpose including placing them online (e.g., on www.cartoonring.com) without attribution or compensation, additional or otherwise. CartoonRing reserves the right to use prize winners' names and hometowns in any advertising or promotional materials relating to this competition without further notification, permission, or compensation to the winners, except where prohibited by law. Some of the accepted works will be printed in a brochure, on posters, in the world press or other printed matter for the purpose of publicizing the exhibition. In these cases no fee for the use of works will be paid. However, if we have plan to use a work for purposes other than above, we will first negotiate with the entrant about his or her fee.
